SCL Mellon’s successful collaboration with SYZOI resulted in a great recognition at the Hellenic Responsible Business Awards. We received the award for ‘NGO of the Year’ in the category of Culture/Sports for organizing the charity mountain race ‘ΣΥΖΑΘΛΟΣ’ (Syzathlos).
This event, held on July 12, 2023, at the Wine Museum in Athens, under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investments, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, and SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises), recognized companies that promote the values of Sustainable Entrepreneurship, investing in Sustainable Environmental and Social Development. Government officials and representatives from the strongest business groups and organizations in the country attended the award ceremony.
The unique mountain race ‘ΣΥΖΑΘΛΟΣ’, held for the 7th consecutive year in 2022, has become an institution in the sports, cultural, and social activities of Northern Greece. The recognition of the social impact of the event signifies the common vision for a better future for children with disabilities and our effort to cultivate inclusion and promote coexistence and unity.
“Our work for Syzathlos included digital content creation, social media management, sponsorship relationships and event management activities, which resulted in the event’s success, with more than 1,100 people participating in the race. It has been an incredible experience and we are really proud for this award.” stated Katerina Dimitrakopoulou, Managing director of SCL Mellon.
The collaboration between SCL Mellon and ΣΥΖΩΗ – SYZOI in the context of communicating and highlighting the race and its connection with society and the business world had exceptional results in 2022, with increased participation and visibility. This led to the honorary distinction of ‘NGO of the Year,’ making both teams proud and reinforcing their motivation to continue the valuable struggle for individuals with visual impairments and additional disabilities.”
The event was greeted by the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Maximus Senetakis, Dr. George Xirogiannis, the Director General of SEV and the President of EBEA (Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Mrs. Sofia Kounenaki-Ephraimoglou.
